The new GTX 1080 is big news for the PC industry. It’s currently the fastest graphics card on the market, but the general consensus is that nVidia have lowballed us on pricing, with the card much more expensive than initially imagined. We hope to counter this, and offer the Founder’s Edition card on our store for under £600.
Now that the Founder’s Edition cards have dropped with the new reference shroud, card manufacturer’s are starting to tease the latest aftermarket designs.
The ASUS ROG STRIX GTX 1080 is equipped with triple-fan cooling solution and AURA technology, which could allow users to modify the LEDs installed on the cooler shroud.
The EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW features a controversial black and white shroud, which has been met with mixed responses. The FTW card extends out a little, whereas the SuperClocked card fits within the PCI-express bracket.
We have another two ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 AMP! Series custom cards. The one of the left is GTX 1080 AMP!, and the one on the right is GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme. The cards feature the following: IceStorm Fans with Carbon ExoArmor, PowerBoost, FREEZE and Spectra.
The GTX 1080 XTREME from Gigabyte have three fans, but the middle fan hidden behind LED illuminated ‘X’ logo is actually pushed behind the two outer fans. This way Gigabyte saved enough space to fit three fans in a design that would normally fit two.
Stay tuned for the latest news on the graphics sphere, with the coming months looking to be an all out clash with AMD’s latest Polaris cards and the new GTX series lineup.
