NVIDIA’s GTX 1080 Only Supports 2-way SLI

NVIDIA’s new SLI HB bridge supposedly will double the available transfer bandwidth compared to the NVIDIA Maxwell™ architecture and deliver a smoother gaming experience.

The longest connector at 81.26MM has only 4 fingers, which means it will only work for two cards, which would not be enough for senior players. People who were planning 2+ SLI configurations may need to reconsider.

An EVGA employee has also confirmed that new Pascal GPUs only support 2-way SLI.
